Chili Oil Pasta

Tastes a lot like italian pasta, just a bit spicy.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz pasta of choice
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 3-5 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 spoonful of chili oil
  • ยฝ cup cream (or use oat milk as substitute)
  • Cornstarch – use as needed to thicken sauce
  • Parmesan – shredded to taste
  • Italian seasoning – a good amount to taste

The Process

Step 1 – Sautee Onions

Sautee onions for at least 45 minutes, til they become very soft – use butter or oil to sautee.

Step 2 – Cook Pasta

Begin cooking the pasta 10 minutes before the sauteeing of the onion is finished.

Step 3 – Create Sauce

Now that the onions are sauteed, add the following ingredients to the pan:

  • garlic
  • chili oil
  • ยฝ cream or oat milk
  • cornstarch to thicken as needed
  • italian seasoning to taste (a good amount)
  • Parmesan cheese to taste

You’ll want the mixture to remain somewhat saucy, so add pasta water to reduce the thickening if it’s too thick.
